http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/773169/ i'm not saying anyone here is guilty of this, but that we need to keep ourselves from being guilty of it
i think we all need to be careful not to do this...
Ah, checking to see if anyone will 'bite' on the cg forum:-) ?! I am beginning to think that I'm too chatty for my own good, lol! Keeps one's fingers in shape, right?
I have to say I have been on the receving end of not getting a response a time or two. Although, some are kind enough to stop in and let me know if I am posting in the wrong section, or will try to send someone my way that does know what I am looking for. BUT, I have felt ignored more than once. I am glad someone decided to bring this up.
Thanks!
I pretty much get a response to everything I ask. When I first came here I did ask a few questions that were vague and didn't get much of a response but someone did point me in the right direction. Some times I get a surprising amount of replies. I start a thread "A couple of dumb questions" it was about rooting camellias and it took on a life of it's own, many responses that weren't about rooting camellias but the crowd got going on how to root this and that.
I love it when my threads I have started get 'hijacked' as they call it! I learn so much that way, just if I could keep it all up there in the little pea brain of mine! :)
I think most people try to be helpful when they can, I'm quiet when I don't know anything (most of the time I'm not the one to ask) or if what I'm going to say is going to counter what someone that perceives themself an expert is saying (not that I'm talking to anyone here). I often see a bigger problem with people giving advice which may not be helpful or simply coming on a bit too strong with their opinions....again not talking about anyone here, but if you thought I was, maybe it's time to ease up a bit...lol
....but (here I go hi-jacking just for fun...a rant)....you know what I dislike? when people get all upset when a thread is hi-jacked or the subject changes ever so slightly, and recommend you "start a new thread"....I mean c'mon, we can be flexible here....maybe I should start a new thread...lol
I'm with Misty, I like to see a thread go wandering off. It's like having a conversation with a good friend. It's a little ADD, doesn't quite stay on point, but it's a bit more fun that way.
Sigh, think it's ever going to rain here again? I feel guilty complaining about 80 degree weather in December when others are getting horrible ice storms, but my garden is just about DOA.
Jenny
ADD is so fun... i have it, and it is awesome... i love how us ADD people are so random and spontaneous and crazy....
You are too much. :-))))))
You all are too funny! LOL
;-)
It is nice when you can go to a thread and find nice, funny people!
OMG How funny! :)
that's me for ya!
Did you get splinters? LOL
You look young to be a gardener! :)
i am and no splinters! i think my feet were too calloused to get them after walking around in the yard and on the concrete and hot sand here in the summer barefoot
GOOD! Glad you didn't get any splinters!
The picture on the pole? You planning a career in show tunes? I would probably pay attn. to the no bare feet sign. Safety first LOL.
lol i don't think that is a very promising career choice for me! actualy we jut took our shoe off for the pic... then for the playground! (that playground in Harbourtown id so fun! i still like it... shhh its a secret!
I was there last weekend.
was it crowded? oh have you seen those christmas lights on that street on the beach near coligny?
