I hope I don't get beat on for saying this, but so often I don't bother to respond because some person is going to come along and take exception or otherwise indicate my posting could have been better or was wrong .... who needs it, gracious life is too short!!!

So much depends upon location. My experience certainly isn't what would be "norm" for FL, CA or WI growing conditions. Likewise a plant which would be an invasive in FL or CA would die here during our winter low temps therefore would only be an annual, certainly not an invasive. Also a plant that I would just toss fertilizer at once a month and it grows like a weed, would take much more care in other areas of the country. Our humidity is most always high so I've got moss, fungi and ferns growing without any special care, but AZ's growing conditions are so different.

If you want me to put in my "two cents" you'll have to say "Judy give us your opinion".

Happy Holidays Everyone!!!

I didn't read throught that whole other thread, but I honestly doubt if posts go unanswered because people are purposely ignoring a question that they know the answer to. Even if it's a question that's been answered before, I think most people understand that some people are new and might not be aware the subject has been discussed before, so they'll either answer it again or post a link to the previous discussion, etc. For me personally, if I don't answer someone's question it's because it's a subject I don't know much about, and I'm sure that's the case for others as well. There are some questions that are trickier than others, and if you ask a tricky question on a busy forum it's easy to have that thread slip down the page before someone comes along who knows the answer, all you need to do is bump it back up again.

Everyone!!!!!!!

Try this ....

Go into "your info" and set your preference for.....

How many results to you want to see on each page?
to 40 instead of the default of 20 .... oh what a pressure relief it is.

I somewhat agree with Judy; there are certain boards that have a (self-appointed) 'resident authority' who will take it upon themselves to answer every post and contradict what others have said; therefore I don't bother with responding or giving advice in those particular forums.

Many gardening questions aren't black and white but rather a shade of gray, so people are going to contradict each other on a lot of subjects because their own personal experience is different. Personally I feel when there are two points of view on a subject it's helpful to know both of them, sometimes one might be more relevant for a particular situation than the other and it makes for a much more helpful discussion if everyone gets their opinion out there (plus what if the expert is wrong...they don't know everything!) I think that most of those self appointed resident authorities are acting with good intentions, they answer a lot of questions because they have the time and the knowledge and they want to help people out. And if they contradict someone, it's because they have a different point of view on the subject. Maybe there are a few bad apples out there who are just trying to show off their knowledge and be rude to people who've posted other opinions, but I like to think that they're in the minority. So I wouldn't let that stop you from posting if you have an experience that differs from what they've said, your experience is just as valid as theirs.

It reminds me of a time when the Humane Society gave my phone number to a person who had found a Pug. I took it in and ran an ad in the local newspaper saying one had been found, etc. The self-appointed Pug Rescue person called me and had a fit, wanting to know why "I" had the dog instead of her and pretty much told me I was incapable of judging who the owner was, if they called.

Brody had a very odd behavior when let out to potty and I knew if anyone could tell me what it was that they were his true owner. By the time the "Pug Rescue Lady" called I had already united Brody with his Mama who had been on a trip when he wandered off from the friend who was pet sitting.

Some people amaze me with their self important attitudes. Never would they start a sentence with ... In my opinion, I believe, or This has worked for me. lol lol

Hope everyone has a wonderful day.
