Gingerbread Men

Does anyone have a good tried and trued gingerbread recipe that comes out a bit on the hard side, so that the men can be individually wrapped? I just tried the recipe on the back of the molasses jar and they are wayyyyyyyyyy too soft. In rolling and after being baked.

I want to make an individual cookie for each one of the kids on my school bus, so they need to be pretty firm, but also still taste good.
