I just noticed that Terry's Welcome thread is exactly one year old today and thought I'd wish everyone here a Happy 1st Anniversary!
Janet
Took me long enough, but I finally got here!
Happy Anniversary NE Forum
I think it's a bit older than that Janet, bit thanks!! I guess Terry was busy!
Gosh, you're right Victor! I should have taken the time to look back on the threads. Oh well. It was a done with the best of intentions. :-)
Janet
Looks like 1/28/06.

Thanks Janet.
Thanks for the early wishes! (Or was it very late?) Either way, very nice of you.
Are we having a party with cookies and drinks on the anniversary?
Looking good!
Oh Heckfire. The Christmas Tree just fell over. Be right back in a bit. It's always something around here!
Geez, Louise! That's the 2nd time. I had to get hubby to put the "hex" on it so that doesn't happen again. It happens every year. Usually only once and it's grandbaby curiosity that causes it. This time, the room was empty! Strange!
Oh well. Here is another shot of the copper dress that I use sometimes.
Mine fell while I was putting it up today. Has to happen at least once every year!
Mine never falls, in fact I think I set a record this year in that I put it in the stand laying down and didn't have to adjust it once it was up.
That one is nice Janet.
You were laying down?! Wow - I am impressed.
We morph so easily, and with so much style, too.
We got it back up last night. I was vacuuming up all of the pine needles this morning and it started to fall again. I caught it just in time. I hollered for hubby to come help. He helped me get it back upright once again. He said he was going to make me a stand for it today. I said then I'm going to lay it over here on this couch until then. He said, it'll be just fine. So far nothing has broken but one little ornament.
I finished vacuuming and went in my room to get dressed for the day. I heard this loud crash in the family room and knew right away what it was. All of the pretty glass ornaments I bought this year are shattered all over the carpet. I'm so dern disgusted with it at this moment that I'm tempted to just take the whole thing down and say to heck with it this year!!! I left it where it fell and will clean up the mess later when he comes home for lunch.
As I was vacuuming, I was singing in my head...
Twas the Fortnight before Christmas
and all through the house,
The vacuum kept running
like a wheel with a mouse.
The tree kept on crashing
on down to the ground.
I was totally disgusted,
and wearing a frown.
Glass everywhere, needles galore
I'll take that da*n tree
and throw it out the door!
LOL!
Now Janet, a new scrooge you must not become,
the picture you picture should be of a plum!
The tree, it can fall, the balls they can break,
but Christmas with scowls would be a mistake!
Maybe we should start a thread for poetry.
HAHAHAHA I feel better already! Thanks Victor! You're absolutely right. A scowl isn't very becoming at all when I gaze in the mirror.
He said he was going to make me a stand for it today
Janet - I think you might be on to your problem
Al, I know it's the stand. That's just about the only thing it COULD be because the ornaments were pretty balanced and so were the lights. I picked that stand up a few years ago at Goodwill. They'd been brought in from the Target "surplus" stuff. It was still new in the package, so I thought it would be a great replacement for the one we'd had for 20 years.
I think he plans on making it from wood with plenty of support. I just hate that he's having to take time from his workday to do something this "trivial". He said he'd rather make it than for me to go out and pay $20+ for a stand.
Janet, Mine toppled yesterday. Good news is that it wasn't decorated yet.
We determined that the shaft that goes into the stand was bent. It's an artificial tree, so I told him to just leave that part off and we'd leave the bottom branches off.
While waiting on him to get home for lunch, I took all of the ornaments off the tree. He had to work late yesterday so the tree is still laying on the floor. We'll git 'er done soon. :-)
Once the shaft gets bent, you may as well leave it off.
V, sounds like you speak from experience.
No, knock wood!!
That's bad - even for you ;)~
Are you getting crotchety?

Is that from crocheting too much?
I do dabble in the needle arts.
One of my least timely spelling mistakes!
Oye, with the typos!
