Streaks in monitor

Yesterday, my monitor started having blue streaks in it. They are about 3/4" wide & run from top to bottom of the monitor. I have an LCD thin monitor. I'm not sure if the monitor is giving up or if it is something wrong with the PC.

Does anyone know what this might mean? Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.
