Back in CT I planted bulbs most always in early November. I'm confused about when to plant them here in SC! Anyone else in 8a with advice for me?
When to plant bulbs in Zone 8a?
You need to get them in the ground ASAP. I try to get mine in the gorund by Thanksgiving. What bulbs are you planting?
Just a few this year, muscari and the regular hyacinth. Next fall I'll do more, when I have more beds dug and a more complete plan. I've been afraid to plant because we've had so many warm days; do your bulbs ever start sprouting when you plant by Thanksgiving?
I haven't planted any in a few years (I'm at a new house) so I can't truly answer for current weather conditions. Being from SC, I was always taught to do them by Thanksgiving. I was probably hasty when I said "ASAP", but I would sure do it by the 15th. Good luck!
