christmas deserts

ok my sister and i have already made peanutbutter balls,coconut balls,applesauce bread,and cornflake squares,wanted to know what you all make at this time of year? i would love to try some new ones lol

crispy chocolate bars
1 pkg(6oz,1cup) semi-sweet choc. morsels
1 cup butterscotch morsels
1/2 cup peanutbutter
5 cups corn flakes


1. in 3-quart saucepan,combine choco.morsles,butterscotch and peanut butter.stir over low heat until smooth,remove from heat.
2.add cornflakes,stir until evenly coated.
3.using buttered spatula or wased paper,press mixture into 9X9x2" pan coated with cooking spray,cut into squares when cool.store in airtight container,
yield: 32 bars


applesauce bread

1/4 c(1/2stick margarine softened
1c firmly packed brown sugar
1tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp cloves
1/4 tsp nutmeg
2c unsifted flour
pinch salt
1 1/2 c applesauce
1 tsp vanilla or lemon juice
1 tsp baking soda
1egg
1c chopped nuts(optional)

cream margarine and brown sugar cinn.,cloves and nutmeg beat until well blended.add egg and vanilla or juice,stir in flour,applesauce and baking soda.beat well stir in nuts,pour into lightylu greased loaf pan.bake at 350 for about 1 hour and 10 minutes
let atand in pan 10 minutes,remove from pan and place on wire rack to cool


peanutbutter balls

1-1lb jar creamy peanutbutter
1/2 lb(2sticks)butter or margarine (room temperature)
1 1/2 box confectioners sugar
12 oz. chocolate chips
1/2 block paraffin wax

mix peanutbutter and margarine and sugar in a big bowl,mix well using hands, while doing this melt chocolate chips and wax together on med heat in a double boiler, shape mixture into balls whatever size you want,when chocolate and was is melted dip them in it and put on wax paper to harden


coconut balls
1 bog bag coconut
1-8oz cream chees(room temperature)
enough water to mix up but not too much maybe 4 tbsp
12 oz chocolate chips
1/2 bar paraffin wax

do the same thing as above,mix the coconut and the cream cheese together

here is 2 more that are so easy

snickers santa surprise cookies
1-18oz tube refrigerated peanutbutter cookie dough
18 snickers minis unwrapped
1-16oz container vanilla frosting
red and green food coloring

1. divide the dough into 1 tbsp pieces and flatten
2.place a snicker mini in the center of each pice of dough
3.form the dough into a ball around each snicker
4.place on a non-stick cookie sheet and bake in a preheated 350 oven for 10-12 minutes until golden brown
5.let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 3 minutes and then move them to baking rack or wax paper to cool completly
6.divid the frosting into 2 bowls,tint one bowl green and the other red,place the frosting into seperate resealable bags,snip off a corner form each bag and drizzle the cookies with frosting
yield:18 cookies


this is my favorite,very easy and good,if you love chocolate you will love this one

layered cookie cream cake

1c milk
1 1/2 cthawed coolwhip
1 box(4serving size) instand chocolate pudding
3/4-1tsp cinnamon
30 chocolate chips ahoy cookies

1.pour milk into med bowl,add iinstant pudding and flavoring beat with wire whisk 2 minutes or until blended gently stir in coolwhip
2.spread about 2 tsp pudding mixture onto each cookie,begin stacking cookies together,standing on edge on serving platter to make a log,frost with remaining puidding mixure
3. refrig over night,cut diagonally to serve
makes about 12 servings
