portable water bottles question

Union Grove, AL

I have a 30 min., at least, drive into work and drink a lot of filtered water. Municipal water here is remarkably safe but tastes vile and the water in town is no where near as safe, legal but not by much, I do my best to avoid it. I usually carry about 1 to 2 gallons of water/milk/rehydration mix/herbal tea with me depending on the time of year. The milk keeps well in mason jars in a small cooler but the other 3 are still in unsatisfactory containers, recycled juice containers that can leak and I am concerned about the plastic leaching over the long term or in glass containers that can break easily if I have to slam on the brakes while on the road, happens several times a week, brakes, not breaks. My work truck is full of tools and I only have room for 1 cooler, for milk and lunch. What have you found that works the best for short term storage of fluids. Water is not a problem but the rehydration mix is brown sugar, baking soda, a high mineral salt (redmans) and potassium chloride and its container needs to be cleaned throughly after each use as well as the herbal tea, yeah I put sugar in it :), dishwasher safe prefered, rotten immune system and sterilization is a very good idea. Thanks for any information you have.
