Does anyone here know where I can find roughly milled peat moss?
I run bales of peat through hardware cloth and then through screen.
What I am looking for is peat that is small enough to pass through 1/4'' hardware cloth but too large to go through screen.
If it goes through the screen it is too fine and stops water absorption.
I only get about eight gallons of usable material out of a 3.8 cubic foot bag of general purpose milled peat.
Coir fiber is great, but the only place I found that was offering it for cheap enough for me to switch over to 100% wanted to charge me sixty dollars for shipping on four bales. That would put it at 25.00 a bale. Too much for me.
Long fiber peat would not work for what I am using this for.
