Alternative to Christmas Tree

Liberty Hill, TX

Wandering what tree in a "pot" I can use as a Christmas tree alternative this year. Several of my family are allergic to many of the pines, love them, but can't stand them. We are trying to make our garden more interesting, add colorful trees for different times of year, etc.

Wonder if anyone can think of a young tree we can buy to put in our Central Texas garden that will withstand being indoors for a couple of weeks.

Any ideas? Doesn't necessarily matter if it's leafless. Just can it survive inside.
