Want to build a GH

Belle Plaine, KS

We have 4x4's, plywood, cement block, brick w/8holes, brick w/o holes-(chimney demo), 2 twelve pane steel window frames-(no glass), 1 large wood picture window frame-(very old glass). What else do we need? Sand, gravel, screen, a door, vents, therm., heater, lights? Is that all?
Do we need to dig the floor below grade, or put it above on posts? It would be warmer to dig below the frost line. Right? But that means it has to have a solid foundation or it will be a swimming pool. Right? We go to alot of auctions, or get stuff free from people we know. I need to know what to be on the lookout for. Also anyone who has plans/ideas to share, bring them to the party. We'll trade!

I use a space heater in the spring-all other heat is solar
The door is from a patio sliding door-put hinges on it!

Lora,
I live just up the road from you in Wichita, you need to come up and take a look at my greenhouses, and get some ideas.
It all depends on what your going to use your greenhouse for,I mostly use mine for overwinter tropicals, but on occasion start seeds as well.
I'm off work now for 30 days,so anytime of day would be great.
