Is anyone involved with Operation Rubythroat Project?? Going to Mexico or Costa Rica for the winter to see hummingbirds??
What a great travel idea!! To escape the cold gloom and get to the tropics for some really good information and lots of beautiful pictures!! Sigh*

Operation RubythroatFlying South for Winter?
Sigh...
I'd love to go. I was at a lecture that Bill did in august and he told us about the trips and invited participants....*sigh*...
Guess I'll just have to wait 4 months for mine to return...
Oh I wish!!
Wouldn't it be fun to have a DG Tour to follow the HBs and Monarchs down south?!
I still have my feeders up this winter, hoping for the odd stray HB here. They have found several late one in KY and also up in northern Ohio this year. Maybe we will have more staying over in each passing year...?
I know we're all supposed to report any we see this winter---they seem to be getting more organized about HB observations...
Yes, it would be so cool to find friends of a feather to flock South together to see all that activity going on down there. The HB group website says if you can find several others to go with you, they'd add another week. It's kind of late for planning, but it's nice just thinking about it. Next year?
We have a bunch of birds around here (many kinds), some which are quite bold. I haven't spent enough time observing them, though. I hope to catch some HB on camera next year.
