I'm new to growing these EE's. Can EE's be cloned from cuttings as easy as other plants? I have some cuttings I've put in a root stimulator and they don't seem to be dying but their not growning roots either. If this is possible does anyone know a time frame to get roots?
EE Clones
Depends on what you mean by "cuttings". If you mean "leaf cuttings", I don't know of any EEs that will grow from cut off leaves. The Colocasias will either make offsets, or a running vinelike stem that forms a little EE at the end. If you make cuttings of this running stem, they may all root at the nodes and form little EEs. Xanthosomas and Alocasias make offsets or small corms that can be used to produce more, but in about 30 years of growing different kinds of EEs, these are the only ways (besides seeds) that I know of to propagate them.

When I say cutting, I'm meaning actually cutting the stem of the leaf and placing that in the water with the EE leaf sticking out of the top, or hanging over the top of the glass. Any ideas?
Even with the stem of the leaf, you won't get rooting. Some aroids will root that way, but no EEs that I know of will do that.
Some aroids that will root from a leaf:
Amorphophallus
Zamioculcas
Gonatopus
