Last fall I ordered two bare-root Pomegranates from CA,..a "fruit nursery" through which I have ordered a number of fruit trees. Everything that we have gotten from the business has done very well,..except the pomegranates. The two bare-root plants never leafed out. Looked good when received,..cared for the same as other bare root trees, and put on a drip irrigation line. WHY were my Pomegranates a failure? Would like to re-order,...but very apprehensive. NOT possible to grow Pomegranates from bare root? (Pomegranates DO grow in our area).
How did I kill my bare-root Pomegranate
Have you tried contacting the nursery that supplied the trees? Perhaps they can help you trouble shoot the problem. If they are a reliable source, I'm sure they would want to help you be successful with their trees rather than lose you as a customer.
