Ah well, the 60% chance of rain for this area today seems to have evaporated. Guess all the moisture got absorbed over Georgia. Of course, they need it even worse than we do. I planted some narcissus today. Dug down 8" and it was just dust. Sigh.
Plenty of other reasons to be thankful, though.
Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!
Deb
I'd have been very thankful for rain!!
Happy Thanksgiving to you too!
I was disappointed too about the rain. I even tempted fate by leaving the rug on the kitty porch when I left to go to my Aunts for dinner. Even that didn't work.

Same here, Deb. I laugh when those weather people project rain, then go outside and start watering again, because I know they'll be wrong. But I always wonder why they're never wrong when they gleefully predict "no clouds in the sky"? Seems only fair they could get their "tourist forecasts" wrong at least half the time... I know, I'm whining...but dam, we need some rain! Big time!
I'll say! I just rushed to get rye grass seed down Wed-was still spreading it in the dark in order to have it all down when the rains came yesterday...a band of rain came thru Thurs am and missed me by only a mile.
It actually did "rain" here for about 5 minutes last night. It left the equivalent moisture of dew. :) Oh well. Hope springs eternal.
We haven't had "rain" of any sort (dew, mist, showers, or real rain) here since the middle of September! That's a long time! Tired of watering...need some relief from Mother Nature... Guess we better get used to the vagaries of weather...just like everyone before us did...
Ahh, what are we without our dreams.....
Trying to look on the bright side, the time I'm spending on watering, I'd normally have to spend raking, my most hated chore.
The forecast is for something around a 50% chance of rain tomorrow and Monday. Wouldn't it be nice?
Maybe if we all concentrate on soggy thoughts. I think I'll go wash the car and hang out some laundry. :)
Deb
I'll leave the rug on the kitty porch out .. that usually works and one of my car windows down.

Good! Now, someone plan a picnic for tomorrow afternoon! LOL.
Don't feel bad, we didn't get any either.....just because I killed myself planting two flats of pansies and 300 bulbs hoping to 'beat the rain'....sigh....
Yotedog; Well - that's one chore that's done now! :-D Perhaps the state govts of NC, SC, and GA should declare a statewide picnic and cook-out day - or week. Or official "wash your car day". That might do it.
