prettylady24, I will be happy to send you some seeds as soon as they are available, maybe in the spring. I will attempt to get them going in the greenhouse, so that you can have a big head start ,and have fruits in the summertime. They are fast growers.

I have papayas that are full of fruit just like yours. The first freeze is near and just a few have ripened so far. I am going to need a good recipe for green papaya fruit.
Next year I will try a variety that fruits quicker.

oldude, I googled green papaya and came up with a recipe for green papaya salad and one for papaya raisin chutney that I will try. My mom used to make papaya jam but I do not have a recipe for that. I remember she told me to pinch the tips off the small plants if I did not want them to grow tall. It's easier to put in and out of the greenhouse.

Placenciarita, Have you eaten any of your papayas yet. How where they, any good? Did you try the salad or the chutney? That papaya jam sounds good. Jerry

Hi Jerry, No I have not eaten any of them yet. They are still on the tree and starting to turn yellow, maybe soon if the weather stays like it has been. They are putting on new fruit. Here is a picture of your Queen Emma I took last year.

Papaya seeds taste like peppercorns. I had a chilled strawberry broth in a martini glass at one of the Disney resturaunts, and it had papaya seeds floating on the surface. The chilly sweet fruit juice combined with the peppery bites was a fantastic combo!
