how to discourage a cat killing dog from my property

I am moving Saturday and taking 4 feral kittens and my old, fat housecat.

There is a dog which sometimes comes on to the property. It apparently attacks cats. I plan to launch a campaign against him the first time I see him.

I may squirt him with vinegar water, I might scream and throw rocks at him, bang pots with a metal spoon, hit him (not too hard) with a stick. Any other suggestions? If I am outside and he attacks one of my cats, I may shoot him.
