Wanted: Polygonum aviculare

I am a faculty member at Louisiana Tech University and am currently studying revegetation of oil brine spill sites. Species for these sites must be able to tolerate high salinity and some oil exposure. One species that has been shown to be tolerant and that I would like to experiment with is Polygonum aviculare.

However I require, at minimum, seed for about 300 seedlings, at most seed for about 1000 seedlings.

Does anyone have any seeds available?

Thanks,
Milan

Milan,

It looks like nobody here has any of these seeds, or they are not familiar with the plant.

I think I may have some of this stuff growing on my farm here, but it's not setting seed just yet. Do you have more information about this plant, that may jog someone's memory? I'd love to see you get the seeds you are looking for.

I had to look this one up to see what it is. Sorry but the only thing in this family I have is Polygonum Capitatum. :{

Polygonum aviculare is a very common species in Europe. I could get some seed for you just about anywhere here. But I would like something in return: seeds of very common North-American ANNUAL WEEDS. Can you get some for me ?

Please give me their names first so I can decide which species I would like.

Thanks for the responses. I may have to try a different approach.

Thanks also for the offer of seeds from Europe, but because this is for a restoration project, it is important to have regional or at least US ecotypes.

Thanks again.
