Our 9 year old Rottie lost her 8 month battle with cancer yesterday. We had to take her to the vets and have her put down. She had gotten to the point where she could barely breath.
She was a wonderful dog. She was so smart and funny (if a dog can have a sense of humor--she did!) My husband, 15yr old son and I took her and sat with her while she crossed over. It was the hardest thing we've ever done. We miss her so much.
The conversation has come up about getting another dog, not now, but in the future. My son said no more Rotties, they are great--but she can't be replaced so we have to retire her number or breed like they do in football to honor the player.
