Ever made a collar yourself?

Have you ever made a dog collar yourself? They just don't make cute, feminine ones for a standard poodle size dog in the price range that I would pay!

But they have lots of cute small leashes and I was wondering if anyone has ever make a collar out of one or would even know how?

P.S. I already looked on Ebay and wasn't happy with what I saw.
