I sent some Morning Glory seeds to an American DG member, and they were confiscated at the border.
I was surprised, as I had previously sent some to another member in Texas and she received them okay.

Seed Confiscation at the US Border!
It's a bit of a crap shoot, I think. If you enclose them in a plain envelope and don't declare them as seeds, they might get through, but should probably not send anything irreplaceable.

Grow_Jo,
Read my email in the seed sharing thread and try again.

Hi Ginny - I did see your post. Unfortunately the seeds that I sent to that lady were the last of several commercial packets of morning glory seeds that I had, so I don't have any others like them to send her. I'm tempted to take your advice in the future though...
Hilariously, I got an dmail today from another American DG'er that I'm trading with and she received the seeds I sent to her. So, some of them are getting through...

That's insane. I've sent lots of seeds to the states, indicating that they were "garden seeds" and haven't had any problems... YET!
I've send 'garden seeds' marked as 'gifts' and they made it through....
