Just Saying Hi

Hello Everyone,
Just thought I'd drop in to say hi and wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving! I still come by and lurk now and then, looking at all of your wonderful pics, I just don't post often.

I'm not back to riding lessons yet. Hopefully in the spring. A good friend of mines DD just started leasing a horse nearby here. I was told that no one around here would lease, so that is very exciting to me. I haven't gotten to meet her horse or visit that barn yet, but I'm want to soon. My niece takes lessons/rides at the same barn this girl is leasing from.

I just picked up a new book today, "How to Think Like a Horse" by Cherry Hill. I'm only in the middle of chapter 2, but I'm loving it. I've learned so much already. I figure if I can't ride I can read.

Here's a question for all of you....my 13 yr old niece is wanting everything horses for her birthday (Dec. 3) and Christmas. I was thinking of getting her a subscription to a magazine. Any suggestions for a kid her age? I saw a mag today called "Young Rider" but I think it may be a bit too young for her, not sure. Anyone at all familiar with this, your kids get it?
