They had a good year. Lots of stuff was gone at the first markdown.

Are large alliums always the first to sell out or is this year different? I want some next year but I'm wondering if, because they seemed to have sold so fast this year, the growers will flood the market with them next year and we'll see late season allium sales (yeah, I know, I shouldn't be so cheap and just pay the price in June. I'll probably do that but wonder if they might be on sale later)

I don't know too much about the giant allium for Van Engelens. I purchased several (maybe 20) from them two years ago for full price. Made beautiful blooms, too.

Two years ago I also purchased 50 to 75 of the several different kinds (gigantea, lucille ball, sensation types) from Bleek at a very very good prices. I believe it was a co-op though. Nice bulbs also.

I was just over at our (high end) garden center yesterday and I noticed they had a huge basket of Giant Allium bulb packages on half off--I believe they were Langevelds...They were sold out of Daffs.

I hate to pay full price for bulbs but sometimes I have to to get the 'special' ones!

I was looking over Brent & Becky's site and they have sold out a lot of bulbs, too, already...
