Notice the white brow.
Sorry I didn't have time to look very well for an ID myself.

CLOSED: Who am I?
Some type of female Grosbeak?
Hi GP, That crossed my mind too but it doesn't seem to completely match up. The streaking on the breast seems too wide.
If it was I would be one happy camper!

Tough one to call. The plumage looks most like female Purple Finch, but the bill is strongly curved above, more like House Finch bill shape.

Looks to me to be a female Purple Finch.
Wow the plumage is very much like a female Purple Finch.

Problem is, look at the bill - in the Cornell photos, the top side of the bill (tech term: the culmen) is nearly straight; in your pic, it is quite obviously curved, more like a House Finch's bill.
Sibley does however say 'slightly curved' for Purple Finch (in contrast to the absolutely straight culmen on Cassin's Finch), so it may be something that varies a bit from individual to individual.

Thats it sadie!
Here she is again but on the back of a feeder.
Might these gentlemen with her possibly be Purple Finch?
Sadie Mae,
Report it. It's definitely a Purple Finch (female). One of the good field marks is the dark splotch below the beak.

Thanks, I'll report it as such!
I wonder where the guys are? I've had a few House Finch male and female but haven't seen anything that looks like the male PF. To me, the male PF and HF are the hardest to tell apart, except for some of the sparrows.
Might these gentlemen with her possibly be Purple Finch?
They're two male House Finches with the female Purple

Darn! I know there has to be males around somewhere, lol.
I'll keep looking. :-)
