New or Different Ideas For Hoya Display

Waterville, VT(Zone 4b)

This is a slow time of the year for Hoya growth so I thought that I would throw this idea out there. Does anyone have any different ideas for Hoya display, trellises, pots, ways of hanging etc? I thought I would start with a couple of different pedestals which are an alternative to hanging baskets. They work well if you can stop children and pets from knocking them over. This photo is H. serpens on a pedestal I think I found at the Christmas Tree Shop.

This is DS-70 on a pedestal from Big Lots.

This is H. lacunosa on a swing out plant sconce, which is hard to find without the self-watering pot that it normally comes with.

This is a bad picture of another copper trellis that I made for H. purpurea fusca out of refrigerator tubing. I stole the idea from Mel and D.Michael on this forum. It works slightly better than bamboo, because you can bend the tubing to better fit the inside shape of your pot.

REALLY nice displays!!! I just remembered in ROSS yesterday I saw a whole lot of tall vases...really cheap...gotta go back next week!!!

Garden Ridge is always a good place to get pedestals. If I remember correctly though, their pedestals are usually just bare plaster. So you would probably have to spray paint. Kind of a down side.

Those from Big Lots have to be painted also....i have a lot of them sitting in storage as I am too lazy right now to paint them.

Great ideas. I really like the copper tubing, tho.
