Cleaning oven...ideas please!!!

With turkey day coming up I want to clean at least the inner glass of the oven so we aren't opening the door every 15 minutes to check the dang thing!!! I am afraid to use cleaners that may contaminate the fud....

Yes, it is a self cleaning oven but we are still working on getting below the upper eighties here and can't keep the house opened up to get rid of the smell or keep the house cool enough. I also have two little ones that I don't want anywhere near it if it is getting that hot!!!!

What do you all have up your sleeves? I have heard baking soda and water but also don't want to spend half a day scrubbing...two little ones don't allow that =0(
