Another pic of albino deer
Send him to White Deer Park in Raleigh! They can replace the moth eaten stuffed one, right Lavina?
OMGosh, what a beautiful creature. I would so want to keep it as a pet. I know, I know, illegal, wild animal, yada yada. So glad you were able to rescue it before a car hit it. I visit Sunset Beach every year. I would love to see the fellow at a rehab place next visit down.
Hey neighbor just up the road.
That is just so precious.Did you try Brookgreen Gardens? They have many rescued critters.
I am going to visit the new birds of prey center rescue center in Awenda down the road between Georgetown and Charleston.
How is the mood on Sunset after the fire? What a tragedy.
OMG, Terri!!!
That deer isn't moth eaten...it was dragged out and set on fire! Don't get me started on that thing, lol! You know it is in an air conditioned 'Story House', right??? What a mess!
Bev
melsalz,
The deer wasn't found in this area, but it would be really neat to see one.
downscale, yes it has been terrible about the fire. This is a very small area up here, as you know, even though we're almost part of the Grand Strand, and it's kinda' like a family so we did take it really badly. I haven't been by to see the house and don't want to but other people have......just horrible! Now I hear they won't release the cause since it has to do with legal issues. Believe it or not, no outside grilling is allowed on Ocean Isle Beach since the houses are so close together so if the kids were grilling (one of the possibilities for the fire) then they were committing something "illegal" and you get into all kinds of things. I'm sure lawsuits will follow no matter what the cause which is also a shame. Terrible tragedy and a real loss.
In today's Sun News it said that all but one had a high blood alcohol level.Another case of do everything to blame the victim.
I didn't know about the outside grilling thing. What a bummer.
Yes, I had heard they had been partying. I'm not defending underage drinking, but these kids were not out driving on the road and were down to have a fall break weekend and were just being "college kids". I can't even imagine all the "what ifs" the parents and the survivors must be going through and will for the rest of there life. The daughter of the owner of the house survived.
Don't mean to go on about it.........
Down_scale, maybe when spring comes we can organize a round up?? Guess I'm thinking spring after all the frost out this morning.

By the way, I haven't forgotten your brug cuttings. I had to work all week long hours and I was just wiped out. I'll get them to you Monday and will dmail you once they go out. Are you going to be at your address Wednesday or are you out of town for Thanksgiving?
Barbara
Barbara,
You have d-mail!

I would just love to have a RU in the spring!
I hosted a small RU 2 or 3 years ago (my brain isn't up yet) at our farm in the NC mountains. We had a small turnout but had a great time and lots of trades.
