I'm always one to try something said to be more healthy for me but don't always go out of my way to seek out specialty stores. So I was thrilled to see this companies products http://www.hodgsonmill.com/ in the baking aisle of my local box grocery store when I lived in San Antonio. The store for some reason stopped carrying my FAVORITE item which were the brownies. http://www.hodgsonmill.com/roi/673/More-Baking-Mixes/ (Last item on the link). They are comparable in price to national brands but they make foods "including organic and low fat foods full of fiber and whole grain nutrition".
Since moving cities I've been disappointed they don't offer the brownies here either, but they do have the flours etc.
I wrote to the company and they sent me a catalog and a $5 off coupon (which would help offset the pricey shipping) so it still only comes out to about $2.50 a brownie mix with the shipping if you order a case of 6.
Naturally having found a great product I'd be scared to try to duplicate something as tasty at home but I'm willing to try if you have a brownie recipe that uses whole wheat flour. The texture of this box mix is fudgy and chewy, my favorite.
