Kell, do you just really love this rose?? I just purchased two in a box at Costco, but now that I'm seeing it here, I'm thinking this might become the primary grower on a large new rose wall I created... and I may have to return for more. Is it trouble free and a great bloomer for you? Flushes all season?? Do you just love it?? One of you favorite climbers??

Thanks!! :)

Sorry Suan, I just noticed this thread on my home page. I have about 80 threads there waiting for me to look at so many can go unnoticed.

I actually do love this climber. The flowers on it are huge!! And the color is so bright, not quite a true pink either. My problem with it, is that it is planted in some shade of a huge crape myrtle. So I get a great first flush for the crape myrtle leafs out late but then it only blooms here and there in the shade of the tree.

I would not hesitate to plant it again in my yard. I think I am moving sooner or later and I will definitely give it a much better place in full sun in my yard to be.

I wondered where you were :)?? Thanks! Well.... I had two for my new rose wall and then I thought I would go ahead and make it the predominant rose for the whole wall and go back and get four more.. So I returned to costco and..my heart be still... they were all gone!! So I drove to another Costco and found one box of two and grabbed it and was going through each and every box and I got down on my knees and saw where there was one box in the dark back far corner and... YES! it was mine!! :) -- Appears someone else was vacillating on whether they should get it and hid it! So I will plant all six against that new rose wall and hope for the best! :) I'm excited about it. Thanks Kell

Do you think the color will clash with Social Climber?? I love that one too and had wanted to grow it on that wall..but I don't currently own it..... Oh.. I just saw your feedback on Social Climber and looks like you don't like it anyway.. maybe I'll keep looking for other companions then.. But I've seen some pics of social climber that are outrageous! :)

Gee, I think I have a bloom on Social Climber and I know I have some on High Society, so I will go put them next to each other and take a pic for you.

Yes, I am not crazy about my Social Climber in the back on an arbor. In fact it would be gone but I think I am moving in the next year. I do like it in front, looks like a fountain for I do not have it climbing on anything. I prune it way back every year too. But even in front it does not give a good repeat bloom.

Social Climber is a true pink too, High Society is a deep luscious color.

What color is your wall?

It's brand new.. I took the idea from here: http://homepage.mac.com/lemec/Garden/PhotoAlbum133.html

I did the exact same thing except my posts are white to match my cottage white fence. I can take pics and post later :)

I have other white climbing roses from J&P, I plan to grow there as well..but need to go look at the tag to see the name.. I'll let you know!

Wow! Your High Society is gorgeous! I just planted two today and I hope they are as beautiful as yours are, Kelly! Susan - how did yours do the first year? Curious!

It is my first rose to flower too! I hope you love it too!

Mine are dead! :(

I was just looking at that link again and thought it was your yard. I was going to tell you I wanted to move in with you. I would bring a bunch of High Society bushes with me. What a grand garden!

So how did they die? Did they have the ends of the canes black when you got them from Costco?

I can't figure it out.. I'm starting to resist the temptation to buy bagged roses.. Some have done great.. My Austins and others not so much :(

I find the roots are too small in bagged roses esp if they are not planted well before they wake up and start to grow. They need to grow new feeder roots before the green growth comes out.

I agree!~
