Peeler Poles

Buckeye, AZ(Zone 9a)

Hi all,
Does anyone know where I could get some downed or going to be downed skinny alder trees? I need to keep my eye out and would love some...I have a bed frame made from them and a southwest ladder...I want a bench for the end of my bed and a few other pieces I would like to make...If you see an area with small alder trees down or construction starting could you let me know? It would be nice if they are not too far south of here....
Thanks all,
Carla

How far do you want to go?
I have about 20 acres or more That was clear cut a few years ago, and have lots of baby alder, come out and cut down what you want. My neighbor wont mind. but dont wait to long it gets real muddy out there, Its right behind me. Its out past the garden area.
Sorry That was bad Ill find another.

Wow, thanks for the offer, Then we could surely meet. I will let my DH know and maybe we can head over there with the old truck....If we can't make it before the mushy wet time can we come in spring? My youngest son and girlfriend are coming for Thanksgiving and will be here Friday night, so I will be tied up for 12 days with him....
Thanks so much,
Carla

Tillys, this is the first I've seen of the rest of your garden!! How interesting.

And Carla!! 12 days with a son and girlfriend, goodness woman don't waste the extra two pairs of hands! Give them an extra sweater and stick them in the back of the truck and let them earn their big big dinner!

Get those peeled poles (I love saying that!)

No problem I only have Sundays off, It can be whenever we can get it together if you want,
Good luck with the house full,

Laurie
My property ends where the strawberry bricks are, my neighbor lets me use any part of his I want to as long as I don't build anything on it or it move able. When I had my horse he let me fence that whole area for pasture. Its a wetland area and he can not build on it and has a salmon creek running through it. Which part of it runs through my property, There is a lot here I haven't showed, maybe I better! but most of the pics and not from a digital and I have not had time to scan them.

This is a pic taken from that spot ( the pic above) to the barn

Those are my lasagna raise beds I stated 3 years ago, The pics where from 2006 I didn't get the time this year to get them going. I had fun making them and got some good veggies some where trial and error but thats how you learn. I had the best cabbage and cauliflower ever that year. I had to give allot of it to my neighbors and they loved it, Its the horse poop I think, use to be my padock.

Horse poop will do it! Especially for something as hungry as cabbage and cauliflower.
