Check out the post for Messenger in the co-op forum that says you must hurry. We all love to use Messenger on our brugs.

This is the second year I've gotten weird leaves that look like Broad Mites after using Messenger. I have stopped using it forever. I have eight 1 gallon mix packages if someone wants them.

ZZ, don't feel alone. I never said anything because this product was so popular, but I only used mine one time too, because of the leaves that looked like they had broadmite damage. It was almost overnight that it happened. I have several clam shells of it someplace around here.

I've heard a lot of things about Messenger, both good and bad. I've been using it for the past two summers now. It really seemed to have sped up the growth last year, but this year, it really didn't seem to do much. Maybe because of the heat and the drought.

That's odd about your leaves, Shirley & Joyce. Did ya'll use it during the day, evening, or morning?

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I sprayed in the evening because I never spray during the day and I don't get up early enough to do morning spraying.

Ooh I'm glad I read this..I was thinking about ordering some. Now I don't know. In general I find that some brugs dont like anything sprayed on their leaves but I started using the spray n grow without the fertilizer or cocowet in it and they really love it. I fertilize normally via the roots because last time I used the Bill's fert with s-n-g some of thier leaves turned yellow. I also spray in the evening that way everythings dry before it gets too hot here lol.

Has anyone tried the messenger seed treatment on brug seeds?

Jeffersonville, IN(Zone 6b)

I tried the seed treatment, but probably did it wrong!! LOL!! I soaked the seeds then puffed the seeds and planted. I didn't see any remarkable results.

I was not the only one that had leaves look like broadmite damage.. I asked Patricia cause I thought it was just me. She said she is not using it anymore cause of the same thing.... It happened 2 years in a row to me.. I think nature knows best... and that's not spraying stuff like that on them. They are much better when I just give em good earthy stuff and nice conditions. LOL
The damage it did to Butterfly is not responding to any treatment.. she will have to be replaced... there are 2 other seedlings that I used it on and I'm on the 3rd set of leaves and they are still coming out bumpy and ugly.. I've completely stripped the leaves off, and used Neem, 2 in 1 and even Forbid... so it's not broad mites.. if it were, they would spread.

For seeds.. I just use a few drops of superthrive and peroxide to a quart of distilled water to soak em.. peel part way and that's it. I think I have a very good germination rate with seeds. My favorite!
