Blooming in the garage today....

Jeffersonville, IN(Zone 6b)

I thought these guys were supposed to go to sleep!! I'm very glad they haven't because it's nice to see a bit of color during the fall besides leaves. :)

Anyway, just thought I'd share a bit. Here's Adeline just starting to bloom and color up....

They are both so pretty. Thank goodness for garages... that's all I can say!

Oh my Gawd.. with all those Whiskers blooms, it must smell like Heaven! Whiskers is my favorite for scent. Very nice Felicia!

Felicia, is your noid a seedling from last year? It's pretty nevertheless. This is a cutting (from July - accidentally knock off by wind), and it has been blooming off and on for me for weeks. 1st year plant, so hopefully next year this plant will yield more blossoms.

LOL! Don't you hate it that you have to go out to the garage to enjoy them, tho. I'm glad you are having some late blooms. The garage would be the first place I would go when I got home from work.

Thanks all! Day Dreams is about to bloom too. Go figure! Yes, it is the pits having to go into the garage to see and smell the blooms. There's something just not quite right about that. LOL!! Although, it's a good place for me to hide. Unfortunately, my daughter now knows to look for me in the garage when she wants something.

Lily, actually, it's a cutting I received from Crystalnurse last fall that never bloomed for her, and she didn't know which cultivar it was. It seems to darken up as the plant ages because when it first started blooming it was white. Now it's a nice, light peach.

Whiskers appear to be a compact brug, look at all those blooms! I can't wait for the weather to speed up and see all these plants being brought back outdoor. Thanks Felicia for sharing the pics.
Brugie, many thanks to you for guiding me how to cross pollinate my brugs. I did it. Yoooohooooo.

They look great Felicia ! I am glad you are getting to enjoy them a little longer. I only have a couple still blooming in the yard and a couple getting ready to open up in the greenhouse. I am hoping we have a mild winter this year and we can get them out early in the Spring. Of course that is my hope every year.

Thanks, Patricia! Actually, now that I think about it, Mountain Treasure that you sent me last year is about to bloom, too. It's almost like the final flush of the season in the garage. :) Yeah, I think the last frost should happen around the end of March!!

Lily, I meant to say earlier that your bloom is very pretty. And, congrats on your successful pollination!! Whiskers is still very young, so maybe next year it'll expand.

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

Thanks Felicia, I've noticed my Dr. D is showing some 1st bud (being indoor), cutting that was potted up mid-July this year.

Also, nuturing the seedpods is going to be challenging due to reduced lighting indoor. 2 of my seedpods drop off today.

I'm sorry about your seedpods, Lily. I had a decent sized one fall off yesterday. BUT, I do still have one left that I cross pollinated. Looking good so far!!

Ok, maybe these guys should just live in my garage! I waited all year for a decent bloom from Adeline, and now, here she is ...

By Jorge!!! What kind of brug is that that yields such a long, long stem seedpod? Holy macrononies!!! I've never thought, seen anything like it!

Jeffersonville, IN(Zone 6b)

and I gotta throw in Whiskers one more time, from a different angle...

You've got it goin' on!!! Congrats, your Adeline is so so so beautiful! I love those whiskers too. :-)

Jeffersonville, IN(Zone 6b)

and, I gotta show off Mountain Magic. She's inside on my kitchen table, well, because I don't want to have to go into the garage to see her, besides she's got more big buds on her, and I like it when she greets me when I get home from work. This is the darkest she's been all year...

Lily, that's Tiara crossed with Whiskers. :)

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

Wow, wow, look at your MM, yum, yum. I promise I won't eat them. But they look so delllleeecious!!! Congrats.

Victoria, BC(Zone 8a)

Oh gosh! They look great!

Lodi, CA(Zone 9b)

Wow Felicia that color is to die for! Yeeeeeah... Did Adeline meet MM up close and personal yet?

Livermore, CA(Zone 9a)

Love that dark color on MM Felecia.

Sumner, WA(Zone 8a)

Your pictures are beautiful!! Thanks for sharing.

Felicia, the wed b/w Tiara and Whiskers apparently is showing fruitful. (pun intended). I've both cultivars, I'll try them out next year. Ummm, MM x Adeline? Another match in heaven? Let's hear about your result, please Felicia.

Thanks so much, guys!

MM is definitely one of my favorties, and I cannot wait until next year when she'll be bigger. She's done nothing but flush for me this year, so I can just imagine what she'll look like next year when she's bigger!!

Kim, I tried MM x Adeline and Adeline x MM, but I was not successful. :( Now that they are "trying" to go dormant, I'll have to wait till next year to try again. I am excited about the possibilities of Tiara x Whiskers, though. They both have awesome fragrances, very nice blooms, I love Whiskers' leaves, so hopefully something good will come out of that cross. Just gotta take care of that pod. :)

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

Best of lucks with the pod, Felicia. DH helped me adding some more lighting to the makeshift gh yesterday, I hope to nurse some of those pods that appear about the size of an okra and still hung tough.
Last night I came down the basement to take this pic. the fragrance was so alluring with this brug having only few blooms on! Immagine this plant to be fully mature and making flushes of blooms. The room is sizable, but being enclosed, the fragrance was.....heaven!!!
