My tulip bulbs have a sap/crystalized stuff on them

I bought some tulip bulbs from Lowes and started to plant them today. I noticed all of them have some sort of crystalled sap on parts of them. Should I return them or are they okay to plant??

I don't know for sure, but I've never had anything like that on any of my bulbs. I'd take them back.

I've run into that on tulip bulbs before, but didn't notice any problems from them. I assumed it was just sap from where the bulbs had little nicks in the bumpy ride from Holland.

Ok great. I held off planting them and/or taking them back. I planted about 60 bulbs with my auger driller and now I'm in major pain in my neck/shoulder. I may have to beg someone else to finish the others for me.
