Today from someone I traded with. Now I haven't a clue as to what to do with them, Do I just go outside dig a hole and plunk em in....lol Or do I need special soil and the like? Any and all help would be appreciated. I am all ears.
Thanks,
Holly
Just recieved Suprise Lilies
Plunk em in!! They're pretty tough all they require is a well drained soil in a SUNNY location. The soil in Point Pleasant is sandy so drainage should not be a problem for you. Plant them about 5-6" deep. Do not add fertilizer at this point. In spring you can sprinkle a little 5-10-5 around for good measure. They will produce leaves in the spring which will be dead by midsummer so make sure you mark where they are so you don't accidentally dig them up. Anytime from late July onward they will start sending up flower stalks.
Thanks So much Jerseyguy!!!! I appreciate it. Being I don't have a garden, They'll be easy to find. Though I will be doing one next year, So I'll figure out a way to mark them somehow!!!! And it helps for you to be from Jersey, cause you know what the conditions are like here!!!
