Be aware that the orange oil will also kill beneficials as well. This solution must be applied frequently and especially after rains. It will not do away with all your grasshopppers, but it will help. Keep things well watered also as grasshoppers like heat and dry. We have been having horrible grasshopper plagues for 4 years now...I know your problem. However, this year has been a little better as we have had more rain and cooler temperatures. But the damage they did in prior years was devastating. I have gone to using a lot of native ornamentals because the hoppers don't bother them.

Neem worked for me.

So do 9 year-old twin boys! They love to find them and turture them to death by pulling their legs off or setting them on fire. Poor grasshoppers! BTW Lucy, they're for hire. ROFL!!!!

I'll be trying something new to kill all my grasshoppers next year. It's called Naturalis HG and I found it a Garden Supply Company. It's a fungus that occurs naturally and it will kill those grasshoppers dead, dead, dead! (evil grin)

Here's some info on how the fungus works. It's really pretty interesting.
