CLOSED: Newbie looking for unusual plant seeds

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Hi all. I am new to the DG Forum and just learning all the wonderful and exciting areas there are to see! I would love to find seeds that are not "normal" for my Zone 6 area. I am wanting to have plants/flowers that you won't normally find around here. I have been working on my garden for 2 seasons now and still have a whole LOT to learn, but I see all of these beautiful and unusual things in other yards and can't seem to find them anywhere around here. So if anyone is willing to send seeds for a SASE, (or however else it is suppose to be done?) I would be very appreciative! I hope to be able to trade my own items once they are mature enough to do anything with! Next year I hope to have many Canna rhizomes or seeds to share, along with many others, if I can learn how to get the seeds! I have had great difficulty with the journal, so my list of what I currently have is in my garden blog, if anyone is interested in looking. Thanks in advance! Misty

Is there anything you can name you want? What is normal for one isn't for others.

Can I name those I am not interested in? LOL That would make it a whole lot easier....I don't need any trees as we have somewhere about 43 trees on a small city lot! UNLESS I can find a JRM, then I WILL find a place for it! My favorite potted plant is a petunia of any kind. I love the fragrance and they are soooooooooo pretty! I love all sedums and stone crops. I don't really need anymore vines, unless it is a honeysuckle, then I will have honey build me another trellis for it! I have the one that has the yellow and white flowers, and would love some with the red. (have 2 of them, one is growing on the deck rails) I'm not picky, I just want more of a variety than I have now. Pretty much anything that has a sweet scent would suit me just fine. Annuals or perennials, really don't mind either. I have LOTS of pots outside just waiting to have something in them come Spring! Any help is greatly appreciated! Misty

Awe, see, jordan is a good girl after all! Thanks! Also, I need some help...How can I over winter Double Red Gernaniums without having to keep the whole HUGE thing inside? Please help me out here. If someone can help me with it, I will see about saving seeds so I will have something to trade! Thanks, Misty

Hi all! In case anyone is interested, if you like succulents, I bought a ton for $1 & $2 a piece! They had a container mixed of bromeliads for like $5, and a Mandarin plant for that as well! Anyway, just thought I would let all of you know in case you want to check out your local store! :) Oh ya, this was at Lowe's. :)

Hi Misty,
You can check out my haves, some seeds I am low on, but let me know what you are interested in and you can send a SASBE and I'll let you know what I have plenty of. Be sure to check that it says seeds-I have a lot of plants, so I'm trying to get a jump on spring trading by listing stuff as I think of it now : ) Kath

Hi all! I want to thank all of you for sharing your seeds, but I THINK I may have enough, for now anyway! LOL
UNLESS, it is something in the tropical family that I just CANNOT live without! LOL
Thanks again, Misty
