Hey everyone .......... just finished browsing the Daily BF'S page and saw a beautiful pic of a Buckeye ........ this is a pic of a bf that looks similar, but lacks the beautiful blues and purples.
Can someone help me ID this guy please?

Yeppers, it is a Common Buckeye (Junonia coenia). A tad worn - that's why the coloring is washed out and you can't see the blues/purples.

Here's a mating pair.
...and this is a Tropical Buckeye (Junonia genoveva). Note the overall darker look and the orange around the forewing spot (as opposed to the whitish/beige of the Common Buckeye).
