Apologies to you all

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

I am still here everyday but mostly lurking; making a few post here and there. I have just had a really bad summer healthwise. Aug 2003 I had shoulder surgery and the joint has deteriated badly since then, 2004 diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, May 2005 I had major back surgery with bone grafts, titanium rods and screws put in after being told nothing was wrong with me for the last 15 years, Aug 2005 when I was barely walking good we lost everything we owned in Katrina, early 2006 I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis which is taking it's toll very quickly on me in my muscles and internal organs, Aug 2006 I threw and blood clot to my intestines and found out I have a blood clotting disease. Now taking coumadin for life, Aug 2007 I had 4 teeth shatter. A visit to the Dentist revealed that all my teeth are deterating from the inside out and have to have them all pulled. Just what I want a full mouth of teeth pulled and getting dentures at age 47. Have to see a oral Surgeon and have it done in the hospital because of the risk of blood clots since I will have to stop the coumadin, also my jaw joints are gone from the Arthritis he said. I am trying to hold off on that util the first of the year, my BP is bouncing around pretty bad despite being on 2 meds for it for about 10 years now with many changes of the meds. Went to ER a month ago at 10 p.m. when my eye hemmoraged. My BP was 200/120, say they can't give me anymore than I am taking now or my heart rate will be to low. Now seeing Kidney Specialist. had Renal Artery and Kidney ultra sound thursday since they can find no other reason for my BP going so high. I have 3 more Dr appointments this month. I feel like all I do is go to Dr anymore

I thank you all for remembering my Birthday it means a lot to me since I have practially dissapeared from the forum.

Forgot to say that you enjoy each day to it's fullest when you know one day you may not be able too

DonnaB, I'd wondered why we weren't seeing your name much. You poor kid!!!! You've had quite a run of bad luck, things HAVE to start looking better. Hope you can find some joy in the little things, like butterflies and your flowers and some good sunsets, and all your pals on DG. I'll keep you in my prayers and hope for better times for you...
Here's my goofy girl Lucy, to make you smile...

Thea she is a beauty. I have 2 cats one is 18 yrs old and one is 1 yr, 2 dogs one 8 and the other is 6 yr, all spayed and 6 Mandarin Ducks. Had 9 but lost 3 in the heat wave this summer. The cats and dogs follow me all over the yard when I am out wandering around. DH gets a big kick out of it. If i am outside when DH gets home from work he just asks the girls where I am and they lead him to me lol

Thank you everyone. I just wanted you all to know I hadn't dropped off the face of the earth yet lol. I am around lurking but not able to respond to all the post anymore. I am also the Treasurer of ABADS( the American Brugmansia and Datura Society) which I have to devote computer time to every night

Donna - I hope the doctors can figure out the best treatment for you so that your quality of life is greatly improved. I can't even imagine all that you have gone through. I know it must be hard sometimes to go through each day when you are not feeling well. Please know that folks here care about you and I for one am praying for you. You need to put yourself FIRST and do those things that you really enjoy and forget the rest! With today's advancing medical technology, you never know when a successful treatment is just around the corner! Hang in there! Keep the faith!

God Bless You,
~Becky~

Oh, Donna, I am so sorry to hear all of this news about your health.

I was just thinking about you the other evening when I was sorting through a few of the wonderful seeds you sent me a couple of years ago when I was getting started with our wildlife garden (I've planted most of them, thanks again!).

I, too, was wondering if you had found other interests (or another web site!?!) but didn't dream that you were dealing with such a long list of health issues. I hope you have some good doctors, nurses, and health care support on your team to help you through this and for sure we'll keep you in our prayers.

Please let us know how things are going for you as you get doctors' reports, and may the next year be blessed with goodness for you! t.

Donna,
My heart goes out to you. I'm so sorry for the hard times that have come onto you but it sure speaks volumes to your strength! You've always been lovely to me on this board and I have valued your input. The Brugs surely must be healthy and happy with you "on board". Stay strong.

Donna, I pray you will have a good group of doctors to treat you and friends and family to support you as you go through all of the mental and physical attacks on your body. Each day we have is a gift from God. I too have gone through 2 back surgeries the last a fusion. So far I have been able to return to gardening at a minimum and I am so thankful for that. I had almost given up my dream of gardening when I retired next year. I pray you will be able to rise above the phisical threats to your body, with God's help, and claim victory also.

thank you all so much. If it were not for my wildlife habitat I would nothing to keep me going. It would be so easy to stay in my recliner on my heating pad all nice and comfy and just become totally useless. I use my very few good days to their full advantage to help ease my burden on the really, really bad days. most days are bad and winter makes them really bad pain wise. I cook huge pots of food on the good days to bag up and put in freeze for the days I just don't have it in me to cook my husbands dinner. I use my crock pot a lot as well. I can fit 4 boneless chuck roast in my crock pot with gravy. You can do lots of stuff with it like served ove rice, over creamed potatoes, make poor boy sandwiches, open faced hot roast beef sandwiches on Tx. toast, and base for a veggie soup. I make double and triple loaf bread that freeze very well. It only adds 10 or 15 minutes to the time to double or triple a recipe. I make lots of pumpkin bread with pecans, coconut, and raisins or Banana Nut Bread with walnuts. Love finding a huge bag of over ripe bananas at the grocery for a dollar. I have become the Queen of semi-home made cooking. I have been doing it long before the show on Food Network lol. You do what you have to do to survive and I really miss having fresh vegetables verses frozen
