I need some 'sore' relief

I have found a puppy, well more a toddler, seems about 4-5 months old. Looks to be alot Lab. It is covered in sores and scabs. Im pretty sure it is from fleas, and I was wondering, if before I could get her to the vet, if anyone knew of something I could put in the water to soak her that would take some of the itch out. It seems to be bothering me more than her, but there is no place on her that is not little sores. Any suggestion appreciated.

Going to look for some behavior threads..I have ended up with 6 dogs here, thanks to my wonderful irresponsible children ;-o. I ve got to find a way to get my house and life back. Boy can these dogs work you over.
