I have my first seed pod

This summer i planted out some of my 2 yr old seedlings direct into the ground. I have had a few bloom this year and yesterday i found a seed pod. I was so excited but am a bit concerned because winter is on the way and not sure if this will affect it. We never get freezing temperatures but do suffer from windy conditions. How long do the pods take before they are ready to open???

The pods will hang on over the winter and mature in about 9 months. So no worry.
