Has anyone grown it? It's a golden butternut released by Burpee in 2000. It's pretty, but I haven't found much on how it tastes or performs. http://www.burpee.com/category/vegetables/squash-butternut+.do
'Autumn Glow' Butternut
Anybody?
Hi,
Wish I could help you, but I've never grown it. Sorry.
Good luck,
Karen
Okay, then it's up me! I'll try to grow some out and get some pictures into the plant files. It seems to be relatively unknown.
Right now I think there is only one butternut cultivar in the PF. So PF definitely could use added info on other cultivars.

Agree, pictures and comments are really needed. While there are seven butternut types with pictures only Waltham and Burpee's Butterbush are mainstream butternuts. I have grown Butterbush, it produces ok and tastes like a typical butternut. It is a small fruit. Autumn Glow is also a compact plant, likely from the same breeding line.
That's what I was thinking. They probably crossed something like Butterbush with one of the experimental precocious yellow squash that were released in the 80s and 90s.
What I would like is information on disease resistance.
Autumn Glow was trialed at OSU, but no mention of disease resistance.
http://franklin.osu.edu/hort/06VegTrialReport.PDF It is a Burpee introduction for home gardeners so Burpee has made no reference to its disease package. Butternuts in general are pretty trouble free, did you have a disease in mind?
Mildews were afflicting my butternuts this year.
