Personally I would LOVE the recipe for that pasta salad with what looked like spinach in it..gosh was it good...
How about some recipes for the RU food????
That was Mibus2. I have the recipe. She sent it to me last night. Will see if I can copy/paste.
the pasta salad is real easy to make.
a bag of wacky mac pasta (usually find it at walmart ...cook it up ...rinse and cool it
add chopped up sweet peppers, cucumber, onion slices, sliced black olives, tomatoes shredded cheese and Kraft House Italian dressing. Toss it all together chill and enjoy.
You can use other veggies to your liking also.
The above is straight from Phyllis. Think I got a little bacon and maybe some dried tomato bites too. Soooo good.
Thank you, it was sooooo good..... but there was no spinach in it? What was the green leafy things??
Thanks again, Kris

And the pie??
Earthling,
The pasta salad with Spinach in it was actually bought from Market Street in McKinney. I love that one when I can get it at lunch there, so I hoped you guys would enjoy it. I am sure it has olive oil, vinegar, pine nuts, parmigiano, spinach, onions, and garlic in it. Maybe I can get the recipe out of them next time I go in. I was just there for a few groceries earlier today, but I will probably go back in the next week.
Was it in a clear plastic container?
which pie Mitch??????? wasn't' here more then one kind there???? *giggles*
Yeah Sweezel see if you can get the recipe out of them that was good
THE pie.. the wonderful choco what ever pie... I think someone dubed it PMS Pie? My MIL had some and loved it...
Oh the PIE.....yes, I also had a taste of it and it truly was delicious.....
THE PIE ....yes it is called PMS pie as both my girlfriend and I agreed( she came up with the idea and we tweaked the recipe as we made it up) it has everything in it that one would crave at PMS time ...hahahahaha...we never came up with another name for it.
Mibus2, we didn't get a piece ! Please, next year
put a BIG sign next to it so I can head right for it, OK?
So, you don't share the recipe - is that right?
I'm past the PMS age but I'm familiar with it and I hope
that makes me eligible for a piece next time.
ALL the food was delicious. Frankly, even though
I was too full to eat any more, I would have liked to.
What a great bunch of cooks ! Thank you, everyone.
Did I imagine it, or did I see some cream puffs?? When I got around to the dessert table, they were not to be seen.
They were there allright, I didn't get to try them either.
Oh good! (not that we didn't get to try them) good, that I wasn't seeing things!
Josephine, it sure was good to finally meet you! Thanks for the good directions...
You are welcome Melva, I was very happy to meet you too, I had heard so many good things about you and your generous nature.
Yep...there were cream puffs...my mom made them. Guess she should've made more of them! Lol...
OK you Texans. Where are all the recipes?? I have been reading your round up threads and all the food sounds so good!!
hahahah Cocoa those cookies were ones I had made to give to Bronc so he would have his desserts..I had posted at one time how I had made cookies one day and was thinking of him as I ate one and he replied back not to tease so I made them up to bring for him to "trade" for the cow manure....LOL
I was lucky enough to grab a cream puff. Outstanding. The cream was rich, but not heavy. Pastry was fresh. I ate one Hdogs and two burgers while cooking (ate the ones that got overcooked), so I headed straight to the desert table when done grilling. I piled up a plate with one tiny sample of each desert and one cream puff. All the deserts were incredible. I was really impressed by the apple pie brownies. Love apple pie and had a few slices in my lifetime, but the caramel? brown sugar? icing on top was something I haven't had before---really nice.
I spoke with my mom and here is the cream puff recipe....very simple.
Cream Puffs
1 cup water
1/2 cup butter
1 cup flour
4 eggs
Preheat oven 400. Heat water and butter to boiling. Stir in flour over low heat until mixture forms a ball. Remove from heat and beat in eggs all at one time until smooth. Drop dough (about 1/4 cup) onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 35 to 40 minutes. Allow to cool away from drafts. Cut off tops and clean out middles if necessary. Fill with cool whip and replace lids. Dust with confectioner's sugar. Refrigerate.
Mom fills some with chocolate cool whip and some with regular when she can. Yummy!
:) Kim

Blue_eyes, tell your mama I'm baking this weekend
and let the fat deposit where it may ! I LOVE cream puffs.
The recipe looks easy. Your mom's a doll for sharing it.
