Sunset Beach, NC(Zone 8a)

OK, kids, I'm going out and bringing my babies into the garage....starting to drop and by 6:00 am it will feel like 41 degrees.....it was cold when I just walked the doggies.

Its like 40 here now too
Ive been bringing the small plants inside for two weeks now lol!
This week all the plumies will come inside.
I want 1 or 2 cold nights to finish the leaf drop so I dont have to cut them off.
Good Luck!!
286 to go.... ^-^

What temperaure will kill em? High 30s OK? SE TN here...

Plumiedelphia, PA(Zone 7a)

Mid 30s will bring cold damage to any red or plant that hasnt acclimated yet.
Ive had rot on reds in the low 40s.
Some will tolerate a brief freezing temperature having only tip damage.
Others are devastated by it.

I took cuttings last spring off my 'gift' of San Pedro DuLac (that had been sadly neglected) and cut the main trunk into 3 pieces in order to handle it. It was a 5' pole. All did well and are now branching nicely. Now I want to send cuttings to some friends. Will it hurt to remove the leaves from the branch cuttings when I ship? I am in zone 8b and have about a month till I have to bring them in. Gene

My son and I managed to bring in about 40 plants tonight.
Sooo many to go
Oh god....
I need to shrink my collection.

Gene,
I believe it's actually best to remove the leaves. Snip the leaves and send them on.

BDunn, I thought so. Thank you for the confirmation. I know it is getting late to do this sort of thing but got into a trade before the time element occured to me. Gene
