Oh gee what to say that hasn't' already been said.
It was a super time!!!!

It just makes it soo much better talking to everyone here that was there cause you can put a face to a name and a voice.

Dave we weren't formally introduced other then LouC, cocoa_lulu and I at the table talking of how DG has blessed her life, but Thank you for taking the time to put this site together so we can all be a big family!!!

Mitch just wondering how many trips you are going to be making to collect the plants you couldn't' fit in your car for school...hahahahaha...remember anytime you want more you can hop on over just east of Chandler and get trees and start planning my water garden ROFL

Deb you have 2 boys that came with you????
If not then who ever they belonged to did ya know they really like pasta salad?
I had to laugh at them sitting there eating it as we were all getting plants loaded up and saying good bye ...I told them to get a bowl and fill it up all they wanted and they did ...*giggles* less for me to bring home.

LOUC...what can I say ...was great in person and I hope hubby enjoyed his goodies.

I bet bronc is going into sugar overload with his cookies

Thanks for a GREAT DAY Everyone

Desoto, TX(Zone 8a)

Getting to hug your sweet neck was great. The desserts were a big hit. Had to remind the grandsons that they would have to share. The pie was for Mike. Lynn's sunflowers were a big hit, too. I keep repeating the same thing. What a wonderful day with such warmhearted people. Just too short.

I had a great time today, was so nice meeting new friends and also seeing old friends from previous round-ups..

Thanks to those that worked so hard making this such fun..everything was perfect, from the wonderful day, to all the trading that was going on, to all the delicious food..and the icing on the cake was that Dave was there. Nice to finally meet the man behind the magic at Dave's Garden.

Thanks again..
Kris

as long as he gets the pie that is most important from today so he knows he was missed but understood why and thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.

Buffalo, TX(Zone 8b)

If this is an example of what I've been missing before joining DG, I am sure glad I finally joined. I can't thank everyone enough. It was a wonderful day. So many people hugging and chatting away like best friends forever.

What a great find I have made in DG. Thanks to Dave for starting this and thanks to all who made a newbies first RU a wonderful experience.

Charlene

P.S. I especially enjoyed seeing the children that were interested in gardening. What a great way to start out in life. Good job parents.

Dallas, TX

Another great Roundup! ... didnt get to meet everyone in the contiguous Dallas area, for some reason I was so tired and didnt get around to everyone ... Collin County, Earthling ... where were you?

Denton, TX(Zone 7b)

Perfect weather and a perfect day! Just want to say I really enjoyed meeting you all and putting faces to DG names. Dave's Gardeners are the best! Cocoa_Lulu, your candy was wonderful! I gave the extra piece you gave me to DH and he loved it. He is not much of a sweets eater but he said it was the best he'd ever eaten. And Mibus2, I kept asking who made that wonderful pasta salad and now I know...Delicious! I'd love to have the recipe. All the food was so good and thank you to all who brought it. Also thanks to the men who helped in so many ways. And dear Josephine...thank you, it was such a pleasure to meet you.

Lindsay, OK(Zone 7a)

Dont worry - I sent plants for the school home in TJ's truck bed too... so I had room to let them be here and there.

It was the best RoundUp yet they are going to get bigger and better each year.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Oh my!! I just realized that I posted a 'partial pic.. From when I took several pics to piece together..

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Ya know, next year if my whole family comes, I will take my car too so I can stay to help clean up. That must have been a huge job. I hope everyone remmebered to pick up their plants, any left had to fit in her car...

Just me thinking out loud here...

debnes

Burleson, TX(Zone 8a)

Yes, thank you Josephine, Frank, Sheila, and everyone else who helped organize, cook etc! The turn out was awesome! I wasn't able to help put it together but tried to help getting it cleaned up.

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Oh Yes, Everyone helped to clean up and we didn't have to stay behind.
It was all neat and picked up.
I wish I had realized how much food we had left over, the hamburgers were gone except for two or three, but we had a few hot dogs, and lots of buns and potato salad left over.
I think I will take it to Mission Arlington today, we don't want it to spoil, and I am sure they can use it.
Josephine.

Fate, TX(Zone 8a)

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Want to see something funny y'all.. Here I am in http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/p.php?pid=4135783.. saying,

Quoting:
I hope everyone remembered to pick up their plants, any left had to fit in her car...
.... and I left my sack with my library of 6 personal reference books near the prize table.

Was I tired or what? Glad my kids knew their way to the car, and DH (Kevin) drove home, lol.

Turns out Kim has my books and they are safe and sound... Josephine.:-)

debnes

Dallas, TX(Zone 8a)

City_Sylvia. Sorry I missed you---was juggling my daughter and BBQing. I knew I was in trouble, when as soon as I but the first burgers on the grill, my daughter says "can you take me to the swings now?" I had a great time. The pies hit me as I drove back to Dallas----had to take a 90 minute nap when I got home.

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Oh Deb, I am so glad you found the books, I figured it had to be with Kim.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Richard don't blame the pie, I am sure it was the hours you stood there cooking.
Josephine.

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

hahahaha Hey if ya have to have an excuse for taking a nap blaming the pie is fine...the richness of it and sugar high it can put you on

Grapevine, TX(Zone 8a)

This was my first round up, and I really enjoyed it. Before attending, I couldn't imagine how so many plants and so many people would all manage to get sorted out, but it all worked out great.

My daughter particularly enjoyed the pumpkin face painting and the cupcakes. :)

Thanks to everyone!
Dennis

Rowlett, TX(Zone 8a)

Here is my big THANK YOU to Richard and Frank for cooking all the hamburgers and hot dogs. Y'all did an OUTSTANDING job!!

Carla

DFW area, TX(Zone 7b)

Can't figure out how I missed this thread, so I'll just
repeat what I said in the others:

Thank you, thank you, thank you - to Josephine and Frank,
Dave and everyone who put together such a swell outing.
The park is beautiful, the company was swell and the food -
well, the food was just plain outstanding. My daughter and
I both ate too much and there was still plenty that we didn't
get around to. Marvelous cooks, those ladies and gents
who brought the staples and the delicacies. So vey good.

So, what's the date I circle on my calendar for next year ?
Everyone was so kind and so friendly - willing to answer
lots of questions and to share. Thanks to one and all.

Anita (and Margaret, my daughter )

Lindsay, OK(Zone 7a)

More less the same weekend each year.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Anita!
It was great to see you and meet you there too. Wish I woulda had time to sit and chat. I was pulled in many directions, lol.
You live very close to me. Maybe we can meet again soon.

debnes

DFW area, TX(Zone 7b)

That would be lovely, debnes. Yep, I'll have to agree -
lots of really wonderful people there and all friendly and
outgoing. Of course, being familiar with many of the names
here really made it feel more like I was meeting old friends.
And I do know what you mean about not being able to sit
and chat with anyone for long, LOL. I wanted to put as many
faces to the names as I could, which is what I know many
others were doing. Next year, I'm coming early.

Anita
