It was so much fun meeting y'all today! The food was great and Frostweed, you did an awesome job! Wow, it was like Christmas 2 months early! :D
I had a great time!!
What a great day! Josephine and Sheila: you are wonderful organizers. Thank you Bronch for the lifting, Richard for the grilling and Melva for the lesson. It was so nice to meet and trade. I wish I could remember your real names.....
I had a fabulous time too. You guys are all great! Thanks so much to all those who put so much hard work into organizing it!
Glad you liked it - Josephine took a lot of it on herself this year and did a wonderful job.
My wife and I had a great time and even came away with some 'orphan' plants - hope a few will survive.
Thanx to all the hard workers - nice meeting Josephine and Dave and everyone else!
Next time I'm definitely bringing more plants!
Carl
A perfect day in every way.
LouC
Thank you all for your hard work putting the RU together. I'm worn out, because I had a great time!! I still didn't get to meet everyone (HI!!) I've come home with so much wonderful stuff that will remind me of you all while growing. Of course I'm going to need lots of help growing some of it too! It's such a pleasure to know you all!
I second that LouC, perfect day...
Lynn, the sunflowers are a BIG hit. Wanting more. May have to put in an order.
Omigosh!! Is all I can say! What a wonderful time meeting everyone. Everyone there all interested in the same things and all friendly and fun people. Someone said like a family reunion without all the ... well you know...the OTHER parts of the family. LOL
I haven't gotten to unload yet as it was dark when we made it home. I am going to have to get up before the sun comes up in the morning. I am not going to be able to sleep tonight just thinking about getting it all sorted out.
I have never been to anything like that before and can't wait to make the next one. Josephine, and all the others that did the hard work of putting this together. A great big hug and a big thank you.
Charlene
I am still trying to put the names to the webnames and all the faces. I would love to have everyones names posted with a pic. Maybe when you get the photos of the prizes being awarded, you could name them both with the names we use here and their real names.
I am remembering now by the plants on the end of the table, by the hanging basket plants or the tall brugs. And I am trying so hard to remember the others. I can remember a few, but it is kinda hard on a newbie to learn them all.
I never did get to talk to everyone either! AND, I haven't had time to go through all the beautiful plants I brought home! LOL--I feel like a kid at Christmas! But I sure did enjoy talking to those I did get to meet.
LOL--would you look at this picture? You can see why you might not get the chance to talk to everyone!
Thank you, thank you one and all for a great time today !!!!
I love meeting everyone and putting faces and voices with names.
Robert and I both enjoyed seeing old friends again and meeting new ones. Wish there had been time to get to know everyone! I will be up early in the morning to unload the van and admire all the wonderful plants that I brought home. We appreciate all of you who made the day possible: Josephine, Frank, Richard, Mitch, Sheila, and everyone else who helped.
Patricia
OMG I will never forget that PMS pie!
Are you bouncing off the walls from it??????? LOL
Don't ask her!!!
hahahaha why are you???
Frostweed, Frank, and Mitch are the ones that set this all up. I only volunteered to help. Debnes designed the name tag with the DG logo; great job Deb! Dave of DG came and visited with loads of folks, hope you all got to meet him. I hate that I didn't meet everyone personally, seems I was always doing something or feeding my face! Speaking of that we all owe Richard a big thanks for doing the cooking today!!
We had 78 door prizes donated, those that weren't claimed were taken by Blue_Eyes (Kim) to be put in the door prizes at College Station. Chips, candy, and sweets were given to those who stuck around, mainly ones with kiddos. Frank and Josephine were still there cleaning up when I left. We really must form a clean-up crew next year so they don't have to do setup and cleanup too.
Hope everyone found the plants I promised at your sections. I had to give a hand at the pavillion, so I distributed them early. I got a huge amount of items from so many great people!! I am exhausted, but managed to pot up those that needed it and watered and looked at them all! It was a joy to see so many that attended from so far off, and so many new people too! I didn't have time to take pics, I did snap about five, here is one of those.

Thank you everyone, I had a wonderful time too, I am posting the pictures on the other thread, and I will probably have to start a part two, I have so many, I will do it tomorrow, I am very tired now.
I also posted there about the money, I have a surplus of $38 dollars and wondering what to do with it, I did ask for suggestions.
Josephine.
Josephine ... its your money! Lord knows you deserve a lot more because you took on a big job and everything came out fantastic. ... or you can just buy Frank some beer. lol one of these days me, you, Frank and Mitch must go to a Mass one Sunday ... that will be lovely.
Josephine, I think everyone will agree the extra is payment for you and Frank for taking time to rent the pavillion, shop for the food & paper goods, and taking time to print signage and mark the tables! You guys did a wonderful job!
I feel the same way - it is yours - or keep it in a pot for next year to give you a head start. I am thrilled we got ahead on this one - I feared you would end up being out some!
I just thought of something we could do with the leftover money if it's still on your mind Josephine...We could buy Richard a DG T-shirt.... :-S
debnes
I agree getting all the stuff you did costs gas do as you wish with it
Keep the money is my vote. Where else could a couple go for $7.00 and get such a great meal? In addition to a great meal everyone gets to have loads of fun and take home new plants. The best $7.00 I ever spent and I always tip generously, so about $.50 a person is not much of a tip. Please keep it.
Keep the money Josephine!! You earned it!! Thank you so much!!
LouC, My head is spinning with thoughts of real plants that it took me forever to realize what sunflowers you were talking about ,lol. I'm so glad you liked them and of course I should have a sign around my neck that says "will work for plants"! Really, I will! lol
Josephine, I agree with everyone else. You deserve what little is left. My great grandfather would say "keep the change and buy yourself something shiny" : )
I'm still so excited, I owe soooo many people a personal "thank you"!
I really do agree with all of you guys! Josephine is worth twice her weight in gold!! All of you guys together........priceless!
debnes
I've been so busy and had little time to chat on DG lately so it was so nice to take some time to relax and chat, and come home with plants! :)
It was so nice to see those of you that I know again! I was glad to see Sylvia, and Sheila, up and about and feeling so much better! Debnes, loved that cake! You've got some really sweet kids. I know you are proud of them, and should be!
Trois, it was so nice to meet you! It's a good thing you and your wife aren't my neighbors because I can tell I'd be outside chatting with you too much! :)
Maggiemoo, thanks so much for remembering me! It was so nice to see you again and see some pics of that beautiful Ella! Maybe some day she'll have her own purple fence. :)
It was a wonderful time...the weather was perfect, the food was great, company, outstanding and the plants! It was like Christmas morning everytime I left my table, and returned, there was something else.

I finally found some time to get online here. Just wanted to give a big thank you to everyone! My parents and I had such a great time. A perfect day indeed!
Is there a designated thread for everyone to post pictures? Last time they were sort of scattered, mostly by me.
trois
I think that is what this thread is for: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/784992/ .
Must say thanks to Bronc. My daughter was about two minutes from total meltdown, and he took over grilling duties for a while, so I could take her to the slides/swings. Thanks to everyone for spending a Sunday with us. Josephine for coordinating the plans, bringing food, plates, etc. The food was amazing. You all should seriously think about writing a Dave's garden cookbook.
Well THANK YOU for grilling!!!
((((((((Thank you Richard)))))))))
Bless you and your precious family brother!! Anjolie is extra precious! Glad you got some time aside with her.
(((Thanks TJ)))))))) Your wife and kids are adorable too!!
I enjoyed meeting you guys!
debnes

Collin County, I think you just gave Dave another idea for making money.lol

The only thing I can add is that I agree with everyone here.
I'm so glad I went and my oldest daughter, who came along
so I wouldn't get lost and who does not garden, is now
very interested - so Thank You, LOL. Except that now
she's getting on my nerves as I can't go anywhere with her
that she doesn't stop and say "What's the name of that
plant?" Well, if I knew, I would enjoy showing off - but I don't
and now she's beginning to have serious doubts about
my IQ, LOL. Seriously, though, I think you all have done
your part in creating another gardener by just being YOU,
so thanks. We're gonna be there early next year !
Anita
Mahnotette, LOL. That's too funny, especially since
she would never settle for anything so frivolous, LOL.
Personally, I think she might lean more towards something
like MahnotKhan !
Thanks for the nice words - I'll pass them along.
She's an English teacher, with an emphasis on British
Literature and also has an Art History degree, and she calls
herself The Grammar Hammer. Are you getting my drift
here ? :o)
