Hello there,
I am just curious as to how many different colours there are in Brugs.
I have a yellow one growing very nicely and I just received a Red as well as a pink in seed form.
I have 5 seeds of each and would like to trade 2 of each seed for 2 different colour seeds if possible.
My yellow one has a seed pod but it won't be ready for quite some time yet. Here is a photo of it.

Colours?
That's a gorgeous Datura in your picture. You'll probably want to check out the Datura forum, where many can help you out. But, off the top of my head, Daturas are white, yellow and purple. Some are singles and some are doubles/triples. Very pretty plants!!
It's possible that you have seed for a red brugmansia known as Sanguinea. The one you call pink seed, may or may not give you a pink brugmansia. Seed doesn't come true to the parent, but may or may not look similiar in shape, size, and color. It's basically a gamble when you grow seed from brugmansia.
Well that's what I get for buying seed from ebay! LOL I was told this yellow plant - photo above- is a Brug! LOL
The Red & Pink seeds I just purchased from ebay as well.
Welcome to the club.. I did the same thing when I started.. only I didn't just get a few.. I bought near a hundred!
You will still have nice plants.. they are all beautiful.
Oh my gosh ! you got me very excited for a moment there. I thought that was a yellow brug. and I was drooling over it. It is a very pretty datura too though. I just have my heart set on a double yellow brug.
I have that same datura. I had it in a pot until two springs ago. I put it in the ground and it got HUGE. See pic... I thought "Thank goodness it's not hardy here, that plant got too big."
Well! It came back! Not as big; could be because it's not technically hardy here and also we're in a severe drought (19" low). Since it survived the drought, I guess it's here to stay. Hard to get rid of a tough plant like that.
On a slightly different note, I have two brugs in that same garden and it's close to our bedroom window. It finally got cool enough to open the windows and the wonderful scent coming in from those flowers! Amazing! I have three brugs in pots and one is definately going under that window next year.

WOW! Barb! what a fantastic garden you have! I am sooooo jealous! You in your zone 9!
I have to bring my daturas/Brugs in every fall!
Yep, the island where I live is a microclimate because of the Atlantic Ocean and the Cape Fear River with only 1/2 to 1 mile separating the two.
Love it!

Humidity and mold must be high in your area though.
I used to live in Vancouver but the mold - which I am allergic too, was driving me crazy! I was always sick!
Now I just go for visits. LOL
Did you grow your Brugs from seed?
Do you have photos to share of them?
Enquiring minds want to know! LOL
Dawna
Yep! we have to scrub down our walls a few times a year with Clorox cleaner to keep the mold at bay.
I also have given up growing zinnias and several daisies because of the humidity which leads to sooty mold. Could also be the fact that I'm 2 blocks from the ocean...salt in the air!
I got all my brugs online or from a friend. I do have pics of two. Also, I don't know the names of them, so if anyone recognizes the cultivars...do tell!
Going back up the dat in the first pic. I went out last night and watered. On the side covered by an arbor I kept smelling a wonderful perfume. I couldn't imagine where it was coming from. I traced it down to my double yellow like the one in the pic. So sweet a fragrance. I've had that dat all summer long and never noticed it.
Lovely babies Barb!!!
LOL Anne how could you not notice a beauty like that!
Well, I noticed how pretty it is, mine also throws triples on occasion, I sit up and take great notice. I just never noticed the fragrance.
