Strange bugs on plumies

I will try to take a photo, but I am not sure my camera can get a good photo. Living in the center of my plumies, where the new leaves are forming, is some sort of bug that looks like a sort of gray and furry, and about the size of a tick. What are these? I don't see them on the other plants. Suggestions appreciated.

grey and furry sounds like mealybugs which would not be good.

It could be mealies, but my mealies tend to be white. Are you sure it is not a spider? I have gray furry spiders on some of mine, and they are harmless. There are too many insects in the world to speculate what it could be. LOL! A picture really would be helpful.

They are gone. I went out to photograph themand they were gone. It may be because temps have dropped a bit. I will post again if they return. Thanks anyway!
