I need Clematis really bad.

Gilmer, TX(Zone 8a)

I need clematis seeds asnd have some things to trade. cockscomb, marigold, morning glory, 4 oclocks and some others. If we could trade, that would be great, but if you need a sase will work too

Carmel, NY(Zone 6b)

You're cracking me up! NEED THEM BAD!!! Laws, we are a sick group...

I have a few Sweet Autumn and lots of Radar Love. A few seeds from a neighbor's purple one, too, but we don't know what they are.

Send me a d-mail with what you've got. If you don't know cultivars, colors would be good enough.

If I can figure out what a clematis seed looks like I have some for you. Barbara Jackman to be exact.

Question how long does it take to get a clematis from seeds? If it does not take long I would like some seeds too. I love clematis.

I believe the tangutica IS the Radar Love.

Radar Love germinates quickly and reliably, and reseeds like crazy. (It is a hardy perennial.)

That's why I haven't seen anything that looks like a seed. LOL.

We lives, we loins!

I harvested a sack of clematis seed today and have another vine to harvest, so I'll have lots. They have been in my yard for 25 years, purple flowers. Check the clematis forum for how to start them, it is very interesting. Send SASE with one stamp to my address (in the address exchange). Please put Clematis on the flap. Lorraine, if you still need some, I could use some seeds for trade, anything BUT morning glory or 4 o'clocks. I want to try winter sowing this year.

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

You never can tell about them setting seeds. My 'Duchess of Edinburgh' never set seed until this year. It's been growing for almost ten years. I was able to harvest 16 seeds off the vine. One viable seed per blossom.

Silsbee, TX(Zone 9a)

I don't have any Clematis seeds or I'd send you some, sorry. I just wanted to say to be sure you look up how to sow them properly. I tried winter sowing some Clematis seeds two years ago and nothing happened. I think some of them need cold, warm, cold, warm before they will germinate....if that makes sense. In other words, they need two cold periods with a warm period in between. I have decided to some day buy my Clematis....when I'm rich and famous for gardening....don't hold your breath!!
