Free Trees

Olympia, WA(Zone 7b)

I just recieved an e-mail newsletter from Ferugusons Fragarant Nursery in St. Paul, Oregon (they are one of my favorites.) I wish that I didn't live three hours from there! They are giving away free trees! Here is the information from the e-mail newsletter:

FREE TREES!!
We've been clearing out our tree yard to make room for the exciting new tree varieties arriving soon and have two kinds of trees available FREE on a first come, first serve basis until gone or November 15th.

Coral Bark Willows have brillant scarlet orange winter branches that add a bright splash of color to the winter garden. They tolerate wet areas and poor soil.

Saucer Magnolias are deciduous trees valued for their beautiful, fragrant, cup-like blossoms in early spring. Their mature height is 25 to 40 feet.

They are in 15 gallon containers and are 16 to 20 feet tall. Call ahead to arrange for help loading: 503/633-4585, and be sure to bring an 11 inch by 10 inch red flag to hang off the end.

New Winter Hours...
Through October 31st, we will be open daily, 9 AM to 5 PM. November 2007 through the end of February 2008, we are open by appointment only -- just give us a call if you want to come by to do some shopping: 503/633-4585.

Please give us a call if you'd like to pre-register for the Fall Planter Class, would like to come pick up a free tree, or want to come by for a visit anytime November 2007 through February 2008 -- we'd love to hear from you!

Rachel, If I had the time and a better way to transport it than my Explorer, I'd offer to pick one up for you. Unfortunately, I am going to be very, very busy this next week.

Which tree did you like?

Very cool sculptures! Now I want one of those too! I want to build a trellis http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=4085360 or a fence http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=4127815 like the ones I saw at Savage Plants.

I wish they weren't so far away (can you hear me whinning! :0)

Hi Rachel, LOL! If I can somehow squeeze it in, I'll drop you a note. If I can do this, I don't want to drag a tree all the way up to Seattle. Maybe we could meet in Longview or somewhere halfway.......?

Oh,and those are very cool trellises.....
