CLOSED: Bougainvillea 'La Jolla'

Deer Park, TX(Zone 9a)

I am ready to get rid of this thing. My garden is too small and I can't keep up with trimming it back.
I do not know how to cut it to send to anyone. If someone would tell me how. I would love to share it or I'll just throw it away.
Thanks
Honey

Hi!!! Bouganvilla roots very easy. Just take about 6-8" cuttings from the tip of the branches. Stick in some rootone and then in the potting soil. I cover mine with a bag for about 2 weeks and then you should be seeing roots. I do my cuttings either early AM or just before dusk and if it's just finished raining they seem to root quicker.

Good luck!!!

Here's the link to Plant Files in case anyone would like to read about it and see a photo of what it looks like! Very pretty, indeed. I have a couple of Bougie's and one is this color. They are gorgeous when in full bloom!

Macybee: I'm surprised you haven't gotten any response regarding your cuttings.

Maybe if you post over on the house plant and tropical's forums that you have them available, you will get some takers! I know there are lots of folks who love the Bougie's! I think I've seen posts with people talking about Bougie's on both of those forums at one time or another! Maybe some day there will be a forum strictly for Bougainvillea's!
